Andrea, at the wheel of Lamborghini Huracan #63 of GRT, took the wheel in the third stint of the race after Mirko Bortolotti drove the start from P10, and Christian Engelhart after drove after him. After a safety-car restart, the leading group was very close, whit Andrea block in the traffic, and at the exit of Bus Stop he couldn’t avoid a crash. Raffaele Marciello’s Mercedes had an issue with the gearbox, with Come Ledgoar behind him stuck as well when Andrea was accelerating at the exit of the corner. The impact was inevitable with the Italian car compromised in the front left part. After a long pit stop to fix the car, Andrea came back on track, but the damages were too high to continue.

Andrea Caldarelli
“I found two cars stuck in front of me at the exit of last corner, and I couldn't avoid the contact. I'm sorry for Lamborghini Squadra Corse, my teammates and the team, but there was nothing under my control I could do. Such a shame we had to retire from a 24 Hours so early, but that's part of the game in racing. Looking forward to the next one”.
