Top-10 finish for Andrea Caldarelli at Silverstone

Andrea Caldarelli scored another point in Silverstone. The 28 years old Italian Factory Driver for Lamborghini Squadra Corse, got back at the wheel of the ORANGE1 Team GRT and took another top-10 finish in the standings. Reneging champions in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup qualified 11th, with the new qualifying format oriented on the average lap of all three drivers in the sessions. Andrea run Q1, being the 8th fastest driver of a 50 cars grid, and took the start of the race. Stuck in traffic at the start, Caldarelli recovered three places until the driver change, with Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Enghelhart carrying the car until the chequered flag.

“The potential over the week-end was good, with a great effort from whole ORANGE1 Team GRT, but in qualifying I found a red flag who comprised our schedule, with just a timed lap set. Pace during the race was good, but I was stuck in traffic at the start by a Jaguar, but I still gain some positions. Scoring a point for the standings is important considering how difficult was last year, so hopefully from next round in Le Castellet, a real unlucky race in 2017 for us, and we could be able to fight back for the podium”.
