“Most” difficult race for Andrea Caldarelli

Tough week-end for Andrea Caldarelli in Most. The Italian driver, racing for Lamborghini Squadra Corse at wheel of ORANGE1 Grasser Racing Team number 63 had to face with a difficult race in Czech Republic. Due an adverse Balance of Performance, the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup Champion faced a difficult weekend, as since the Friday’s free practices, Lamborghini was struggling on the new venue. On Qualifying 1, Andrea’s teammate Mirko Bortolotti drove the car until 15th place, and Caldarelli took the seat at the pit-stop, cruising the #63 until 10th place, scoring the only point of the weekend. Driving in Sunday morning Q2, Andrea set 19th fastest time, still best Lambo in the standing, despite a tyre puncture.

“We knew BoP would have been changed after Oschersleben, and this make things difficult for us. Together with Mirko, GRT and all Lamborghini Squadra Corse people we analyse every single situation, to limit the damages. At least we scored one point, while a tyre-puncture on Sunday prevented us from a better position. Thanks to the strategy game we avoid most of the traffic and in both situation we have been competitive”.
