Andrea Caldarelli goes from pole to win at Okayama

The 2015 Super GT season started with a sensational performance for Andrea Caldarelli. The 25-year-old Italian racer from Pescara cruised from the pole to a stunning race victory in the opening round of the SUPER GT championship at Okayama. Teaming-up with Ryo Hirakawa, Andrea topped the charts in qualifying and during the race, propelling the Lexus RC-F prepared by Team KeePer Tom's towards the front end of the championship standings. The win is a repeat of his 2014 success, scored in Round 1 at Okayama.

"I really have no words to describe how excited I am now. We had found a great compromise in terms of the set-up in testing and we knew we would have been fast. But the win in Okayama also showed that we are able to manage every race situation. With variable weather and the rain coming and going, both my team-mate and I avoided making mistakes and we were perfectly assisted from the pits with a great strategy. My next run will now be in the opening round of the 2015 Super Formula championship on the 19th of April in Suzuka"
